Applicant Comment Hello,
My name is Bob McPherson, and I'm looking for an ESL teaching position to
begin the first week of May, 2004. I'm a Canadian native English speaker,
currently working at a school in Cheongju. By the time I finish this
contract I will have had 29 months recent teaching experience in Korea. I
also have 3 years experience tutoring English at a Canadian university. I
am looking for a one year contract.

Here are some things I'm looking for in a contract:

- 2.0 million won per month for no more than 25, 45-50 minute classes per
week. I may be willing to negotiate a lower salary for fewer classes (i.e.
15-20 classes per week). I do not want to be at the school any more than 6
hours a day maximum (including prep time).
- No weekend work, and absolutely no split shifts. My classes must fall
within a 5 - 6 hour time-frame each day.
- I would prefer not to teach kindergarten
- Standard provisions of severance pay, medical etc.
- Clean, quiet, and relatively new accommodation within walking distance
of the school. The accommodation must be private, not shared, and fully
furnished (i.e. television, and washing machine etc. - My last three schools
also provided home computers, although I may buy a computer before my
current contract ends).
- I'm not too fussy about location of the school

Before signing with any school I will have to be put in contact with
current and/or former native English speaking teachers. I would also like
to review the study materials and daily schedules.

If you think your school or a school you represent may be able to meet the
above criteria, please contact me via the e-mail address attached to this
message. I will only respond to queries that have obviously considered the
criteria stated in this message.

Thanks for taking the time to read this message, and I look forward to
hearing from you.

Best Regards, Bob McPherson
