| Applicant Comment | I am a Canadian teacher interested in teaching English in
Korea. I earned a double major in Recreation and Leisure and Psychology. I think that both of these disciplines strengthen my ability to be an excellent teacher. Having taken developmental and educational psychology courses, I have a deeper understanding as to how children think and what obstacles prevent them from achieving their goals. Having taken travel and tourism courses through the Rec and Leisure, department, I have a greater appreciation of foreign cultures and would find it easy to adapt. From an educational perspective, I would also be able to make the learning experience enjoyable. I might also add that I was also accepted at the undergraduate level for English. Both of my parents were teachers and I have a thorough understanding as to how the education system works Beyond education and credentials, working with children could be a very rewarding experience. Working with them might actually be fun and I could try and make a difference in their lives. |
